The brain slicing molds are specialized tools for obtaining precise sections of animal brain tissue at specific locations. We offer two types of molds tailored for adult Rhesus macaques (Macaca mulatta) and crab-eating macaques (Macaca fascicularis): coronal slices perpendicular to the midline of the brain and sagittal slices parallel to the midline, both with a slice thickness of 2mm. Crafted from high-quality aluminum alloy, these molds ensure precise dimensions, even cutting edges, and uniform thickness, guaranteeing repeatability throughout the slicing process. Customization options are available for other animal brain tissues, such as pigs, chickens, ducks, rabbits, and guinea pigs.

Two configurations available: Coronal slicing molds perpendicular to the brain's midline and sagittal slicing molds parallel to the midline.
Coronal brain molds feature a sagittal midline for convenient separation of the left and right hemispheres.
Applicable Fields
For initial positioning of fixed brain tissue, enabling precise slicing for techniques such as paraffin sectioning, cryosectioning, vibratome sectioning, and ultrathin sectioning.
For localization of fresh brain tissue, in conjunction with brain atlases, to identify neural nuclei and special regions for subsequent protein, molecular, and biochemical analysis.
Usage Instructions
Place the stripped or fixed animal brain tissue into the corresponding mold groove according to the desired slicing direction and tissue shape.
Determine the slicing location and insert two slicing blades (we recommend Servicebio G7099-150 blades) into the cutting slots on either side of the target tissue area. Press both ends of the blades simultaneously until they reach the bottom of the slots to slice the tissue. Withdraw the blades from the side and use tweezers to gently remove the sliced brain section for further experimentation.
Remove the remaining tissue from the mold, rinse the mold with water, and let it air-dry for future use. (For fresh tissue, to facilitate slicing and prevent tissue adhesion, it is recommended to freeze the mold in a -20°C freezer before slicing).
