Specificity: Recognizes rat MIF (Macrophage migration Inhibitory Factor). Species cross-reactivity: mouse and human MIF. On Western blots, it identifies a band at ~12kD in rat testis homogenates. Reactivity has been confirmed with rat testis homogenates by Western blot, mouse NIH 3T3 cells by immunoprecipitation, mouse testis homogenates by immunofluorescence, and human and rat lung, kidney, brain, and epididymis by immunohistochemistry.
